Mar. 22, 1887 - The first number of the Greensburg Republican was issued, by Hollis & Welles.

Dec. 5, 1887 - The people of Wano begin moving their buildings and lives one and one-half miles to the site of what will become St. Francis, in order to be on the rail line.
