April 3, 1826 - Cyrus Kurtz Holliday, a distinguished Kansas pioneer, was born, to David and Mary (Kennedy) Holliday, near Carlisle, Pennsylvania. Holliday would go on to be the founder of Topeka, Kansas and the founder of the Atchison, Topeka and Santa Fe Railway.
